Stratix IV FPGA Overview

For high-end applications, Altera® Stratix® IV FPGAs enable ground-breaking system bandwidth and power efficiency, enabling you to develop without limitations. Based on the 40-nm process technology of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Stratix IV FPGAs outperform all other high-end FPGAs, having the most transceivers, the highest logic density, and the lowest power needs.

Three optimized variations of the Stratix IV device family are available to satisfy various application needs: Stratix IV E (Enhanced) FPGAs have up to 813,050 logic elements (LEs), 33,294 kilobits of RAM, 1,288 18 x 18-bit multipliers, and 48 full-duplex clock data recovery (CDR)-based transceivers at up to 8.5 Gbps. Stratix IV GX transceiver FPGAs have up to 531,200 LEs, 27,376 Kb of RAM, 1,288 18 x 18. The full Altera high-end solution includes an extensive portfolio of application solutions tailored for end markets, the industry-leading Quartus® II software to boost productivity and performance, and the lowest risk, lowest total cost path to volume using HardCopy® IV ASICs for all family variants.
