Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) from Actel's second generation are referred to as the A1280A-2PQ160I. C-modules and S-modules make up the two-module architecture of the A1280A-2PQ160I. These modules are designed to work well with both sequential and combinatorial designs. A1280A-2PQ160I, which is based on Actel's unique channeled array architecture, offers notable improvements in gate density and performance while still being downwardly and upwardly compatible with the ACT 1 and ACT 3 design environments.
For usage in all high-reliability and military applications, the A1280A-2PQ160I provides a variety of packaging, speed/performance characteristics, and processing capabilities. Devices are implemented using the PLICE anti-fuse technology from Actel in a silicon gate, two-level metal CMOS process. Device utilization is approximately 95% of the available logic modules, and this unique architecture gives gate array flexibility, high performance, and quick turnaround through user programming.
