XA7Z020-1CLG400Q Overview

The XA7Z020-1CLG400Q provides the performance, power, and usability normally associated with ASICs and ASSPs while offering the flexibility and scalability of an FPGA. With the use of industry-standard tools, designers may target both high-performance and cost-sensitive applications from a single platform by employing the variety of devices in the XA Zynq-7000 SoC family. While the PS is the same across all XA Zynq-7000 family devices, the PL and I/O resources differ.

As XA Zynq-7000 family, XA7Z020-1CLG400Q provides a wide range of soft IP. The PS and PL peripherals have standalone and Linux device drivers available. For software, hardware, and systems engineers, the award-winning ISE Design Suite: System Edition development environment enables quick product development. In addition to Xilinx's current PL ecosystem, adoption of the ARM-based PS also adds a wide range of outside tools and IP sources. The addition of an application processor makes it possible to support advanced operating systems, such Linux. For the XA Zynq-7000 family, many common operating systems for the Cortex-A9 processor are also accessible. The PS and the PL are on separate power domains, enabling the user of these devices to power down the PL for power management if required. The processors in the PS always boot first, allowing a software centric approach for PL configuration. PL configuration is managed by software running on the CPU, so it boots similar to an ASSP.
